HAZMAT EMERGENCY INFORMATION
CABINET
A MANIFEST IS REQUIRED WHEN A SITE STORES OR
HANDLES HAZARDOUS CHEMICALS OR DANGEROUS
GOODS IN QUANTITIES EXCEEDING THE MANIFEST
QUANTITY DEFINED IN SCHEDULE 2 OF THE WHS
REGULATION.
The Manifest must include all information required under the
Regulation and be kept in a suitable Manifest Cabinet located
where it is readily accessible to emergency services.
To ensure compliance and rapid response in an emergency, the
Manifest Cabinet should be installed at the main entrance to the
premises and contain:
• A site map showing the location of hazardous chemicals and
all fire-fighting equipment.
• Safety Data Sheets (SDS) for all chemicals stored on site.
• A 24-hour emergency contact number.
• A lock system compatible with emergency services, such as a
003 combination lock.
